A Rosie is someone worth knowing, yet with each passing day there are fewer of these living treasures around since they have aged into their 80's and 90's. An August 10th article in the Washington Post, Real Life 'Rosie the Riveter' Women Share their Stories and Philosophy, highlights one groups' efforts to inspire and educate young people with real Rosie stories. Thanks! Plain and Simple is dedicated to finding and chronicling the unique story of as many Rosies as possible, and connecting these aging heroes with their community through special projects and intergenerational programs.
Do you know a real life Rosie or a World War II veteran? Don't wait until it's too late! Take time to listen to their stories and share them with others. There are several organizations that work to chronicle the journey of these amazing heroes, and the contributions they made to champion our freedom. You can find links to many of these organizations at the American Rosie The Riveter Association.
